🎢 The Musical Journey of James A. Norkawich: A Story Told Through Albums

Published on 28 April 2025 at 07:16

Every artist has a journey. Mine, James A. Norkawich, is one woven through melodies, memories, and milestones. Looking back over the past few years, it's incredible to see how each album captured a moment in time — both personally and for my listeners.

Here’s the story behind the music and how my albums have shaped this journey so far:

🌟 2022: Laying the Foundation

Yesterday (Songs From The Great American Songbook, Vol. 1) and Today (Songs From The Great American Songbook, Vol. 2) were my love letters to the timeless classics. I wanted to reimagine songs that shaped generations — and, in doing so, connect listeners to an emotional past while breathing new life into these gems.

At the same time, I celebrated the most magical time of year with A Connecticut Christmas and Christmas By The Seaside, capturing the warmth of New England's holiday spirit. These albums blended tradition and new sounds, creating a cozy soundtrack for the season that resonated with families across the country.

🌊 2023: Finding Light and Magic

In 2023, I released Lighthouse, a deeply personal album symbolizing hope, guidance, and resilience. It became a beacon for those navigating life's storms.

Later that year, Christmas Magic arrived — a whimsical, heartfelt collection that continued to spread holiday joy. Christmas has always been special to me, and I aimed to capture that feeling through every note.

🏠 2024: A Return to My Roots and New Horizons

This was a landmark year. I launched Hometown Homecoming, an album inspired by my childhood, hometown memories, and the universal feeling of coming back to where you belong. Songs like "Bridgeport by the Sea" and "Ode to PT Barnum" honored my roots, and proceeds were even directed to support veterans.

Later, Love Is More Than Words Can Say was released — a powerful ballad capturing the raw emotions of true connection and vulnerability.

Holiday magic returned stronger than ever with Christmas Enchantment, featuring original songs like "Katz Hardware," paying tribute to Glastonbury’s beloved hardware store and celebrating small-town America.

At the close of the year, I released A New Beginning (The Complete Collection), summarizing a journey of growth, challenges, and the excitement of starting anew. So Far So Great wrapped up 2024, offering a snapshot of hope, triumph, and resilience.

🎹 2025: The Story Continues

2025 is the year of expansion and exploration.
With Keys to the Soul, I dove deeper into emotional, instrumental storytelling — using the piano to share the unsaid and the unseen.

Just Getting Started lives up to its name — a bold statement that despite everything accomplished, the best is yet to come.
